“We are progressing well through the Enterprising New Parents project and I can’t believe how much drawing and development everyone has got done. The participants have been working hard to create coherent characters and engaging narratives for their chosen learning resources, which in turn will benefit their children through a shared experience of reading their book together.
The group also comes from a varied background – not just geographically but also in terms of the skills they are each bringing with them and using to get their ideas out onto paper. Participants have already utilised skills such as designing, storyboarding, editing and refining ideas and drafts, using new materials and problem solving. In the coming weeks we will also work on the technical skills of bookbinding. I am really impressed by everyone’s work to date and their willingness and enthusiasm for learning with each other. And I am also touched by how well the group supports one another. With every group there are always dynamics to get used to. However, it feels like this group of women has known each for a long time and I so value our time together and feel excited by the progress the women are making. “
Until next time! 🙌🏻
