Grass roots organisations to benefit from ABZWorks Development Fund

8 January 2026

We’re pleased to announce the launch of the ABZWorks Development Grants Fund, to boost skills and employability activity in Aberdeen communities.

The fund, which is now in its fourth round, offers grants of up to £10,000 to community-based and grass roots organisations in the city to help build and enhance their employability capacity.

ABZWorks Development Grants will help people to move closer to employment (including self-employment), training, education, and volunteering by providing the support they need on their doorsteps.

ABZWorks Development Grants are open to a broad range of activities which will support people aged 16+ and who are not in education, training, or employment, from the very earliest stages of their route towards employment.

Bids Welcome

Bids are welcome from city-based organisations operating across Aberdeen, with priority given to those in the regeneration areas. We are particularly interested in activities for parents, as well as those which focus on the development of basic digital skills, or which support people with mental health or long-term physical health conditions.

ABZWorks Development Grants will build and enhance the employability capacity of organisations and support people to develop confidence and skills.

Previous Successful Applicants

Organisations which have previously successfully bid for funding include: Your Love Rara CIC; Inchgarth Community Centre; Black and Scot; Catalyst Transform; Music 4 U; Denis Law Legacy Trust; Invisible Cities; Absafe SCIO; and The Bridge.

How to apply

To apply, visit ABZWorks Development Fund – Round 4. Applications close at noon on Monday, 23 January. For more information, email abzworks@aberdeencity.gov.uk

The ABZWorks Development Grants Fund has been created using No One Left Behind monies from Scottish Government.
